about

The name "Lucy" was the name of my old girlfriend Lori's pug, a beautiful, smart, cute ball of muscle (the dog, I mean!). Lori's pretty cute, too. The song is more or less fiction, I guess.

lyrics

She says it’s a mystery
And maybe it is
It may not be history
But the story is his
And Lucy played a bit part
Waiting in the wings
For the telephone or anything

Where do you stand, Lucy?
Where you began or here with me?
Tuesday’s come and gone and still he hasn’t called
I think that you should come on home to me

By Monday her innocence
Was put to the test
She caught him by accident
But nevertheless
My Lucy knew he’d have a story up his sleeve
So she waited for his make-believe…come on

Where do you stand, Lucy?
Where you began or here with me?
Tuesday’s come and gone and still he hasn’t called
I think that you should come on home to me

And Lucy longs to be the star in his eyes
If he could only see past the glare
That is cast by his own brilliant light

Where do you stand, Lucy?
Where you began or here with me?
Tuesday’s come and gone and still he hasn’t called
I think that you should come on home to me

about

Blair Packham Toronto, Ontario

New album "The Impossible Dream" coming soon! Thirteen years after 2004’s “Could’ve Been King," Blair Packham returned with a collection of clever and heartfelt songs, called “Unpopular Pop.” A bit Beatle-y, with shades of Elvis Costello, Blair’s songs are undeniably all his. He made the record at home and then called on Ron Sexsmith and ex-Barenaked Ladies’ Steven Page to make vocal appearances. ... more
